I definitely have to get on the You Tube bandwagon. I’ve been using Vimeo, and find it really good for driving traffic to my site, but I think You Tube is far more popular that I’m really missing out on a good opportunity here. You’ve definitely highlighted some reasons why I should look into You Tube again. I’ll stick it back on my “to do list”. Thanks for sharing and getting me motivated.

My favourite tip in this post is about establishing a relationship with clients outside of a sales setting. I think this is very sensible because I hate arriving at websites and being bombarded by information about what to purchase and why. I like the idea of a customer feeling confident with the brand itself and getting to trust the brand. This is surely the best basis for any business. The tips on video-making are also helpful

This is very useful to know. I definitely agree then a well designed and well placed video on a landing page will garner more success than one without. I also agree that the video should not play straight away when you get to the website because this is very annoying if you are just browsing because it feels like a pop up. I also think the call to action suggestion is excellent: if the video is good then people will want to get going straight away.

In reply to Kendra. I'd test using a landing page for ads that you are running and send people just to one designated page. It would be best if it wasn't your regular website (unless you are an ecommerce site). You'll use that landing page without any additional navigation so all they have the option to do is take the desired action. If you want to use your website as a designated landing page, try to make sure there is only one call to action on that particular page.
