3 Amazing ways YouTube can Help Your Business without paid ads

When it comes to marketing your business online, YouTube is a resource that should not be ignored.

If your company has value to offer your customers, that value can be offered through video.

If your company can’t offer value, why are you in business in the first place?

79% of B2B companies and 82% of B2C companies use video as a part of their marketing strategy.

But how can video- specifically YouTube- impact your business?

Paid ads, particularly True-view In-stream ads are one way, but not all businesses are going to have a budget for that and that’s ok.

You don’t have to be running ads in order to find success using video marketing for your business.

Here are three ways you can see a boost in your business by using YouTube:

Drive Interested Traffic

TrafficTraffic is the name of the game when it comes to getting leads and conversions from your online marketing efforts.

Whether it’s being driven to a simple landing page with video or your company website, traffic is extremely important.

Not only can you get great traffic from using YouTube, but you’ll be getting visitors who are already interested in what your company has to offer.

The warmer your leads, the more likely you are to get them to take action.

People who have watched your videos on YouTube and clicked through to your site have already received value from you and are actively looking for more.

You’re making a huge mistake if you are neglecting this opportunity.

Now, this isn’t a ‘build it and they will come’ scenario- you have to know what your audience needs and give it to them in the form of quality video in order to start getting interested traffic.

Thankfully, that process is not nearly as hard as it seems.

High converting traffic is definitely the best benefit of using YouTube for your company, but it’s certainly not the only benefit.

Establish Yourself as an Industry Leader

LeaderAnytime you make an effort to teach your customer base something valuable, you are proving to them that you can be trusted with their business.

Take some time to answer some industry-related FAQs on your channel.

Then, try and take it further than that by answering questions you wish your customer base was asking or by de-bunking common misconceptions.

Let them know that you and your business are truly there to serve them and their needs.

There’s clear philanthropic benefit when you give to the community, but there’s also a benefit for you professionally.

By offering videos that help your customer base with their basic and DIY needs, you’re helping them remember your brand when it comes time to make a purchasing decision.

Never underestimate the power of having a great reputation online.

Build Community

CommunityYouTube allows you to build these kinds of relationships with your customers outside of a sales setting.

Your brand is more accessible to your customer base when they don’t feel pressured to make a purchase.

This kind of environment encourages them to come back when they have questions, to talk with you and to talk about you when their friends and family need the kind of information and service you provide.

Proving that you are an expert in your industry means that people will trust your expertise, but building a community will help them trust you on a personal level and make it that much easier to trust you with their business.

How to be Successful on YouTube

KIEV UKRAINE - APRIL 15 2015: YouTube logotype printed on paperSo how do you go about actually getting these benefits from YouTube?

We’ve touched on it a little bit, but here are some best practices that will set you on the path to success and cut out a lot of the guess work.

Content

The most important thing here is going to be the kind and quality of the content you are putting out there.

Don’t feel intimidated when you’re just getting started- you don’t need an expensive production.

From a technical standpoint, if you are filming live video you want to make sure that you are filming in a well-lit area and that the sound is clear.

If you aren’t using live footage, just make sure your visuals are engaging and that a section of text or an image isn’t onscreen for an extended period of time.

Make sure your videos include a call to action at the end that encourages viewers to like, subscribe, and share!

Choose the right video

What kinds of video should you start with? Like I mentioned before, you want to stay away from a sales setting and focus on answering frequently asked questions, giving tutorials for your products, debunking myths, etc.

What you will be able to do depends on what your product or service is, but approach your videos with a heart of service.

If you’re truly stuck, try heading over to Google.

Start typing in industry-related keywords and see what comes up in the suggested search or related search.

There may be some questions in there you hadn’t thought to answer.

Get Involved

Try posting your videos on a schedule and let your subscribers and your other social media followers know that you will be around to answer questions for a while after the video is posted.

This way you can really build engagement in your community.

Definitely post about your new video on your social media accounts and embed it on a relevant page on your company’s website, if that is a possibility.

Optimize Your YouTube Channel

My favourite tip in this post is about establishing a relationship with clients outside of a sales setting. I think this is very sensible because I hate arriving at websites and being bombarded by information about what to purchase and why. I like the idea of a customer feeling confident with the brand itself and getting to trust the brand. This is surely the best basis for any business. The tips on video-making are also helpful

I definitely have to get on the You Tube bandwagon. I’ve been using Vimeo, and find it really good for driving traffic to my site, but I think You Tube is far more popular that I’m really missing out on a good opportunity here. You’ve definitely highlighted some reasons why I should look into You Tube again. I’ll stick it back on my “to do list”. Thanks for sharing and getting me motivated.
